Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers appoints
Ryan McGuire to State Advisory Boards

Ryan McGuire, Senior Consultant for Oak Wealth Advisors, was recently appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to serve on two state advisory boards: the Wisconsin Board for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) and the Wisconsin College Savings Program Board. These appointments reflect his ongoing efforts to advocate for individuals with disabilities and promote the field of special needs financial planning.

Established under the 1970 Developmental Disabilities Act, the Wisconsin Board for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) works tirelessly to remove obstacles and solve challenges facing the developmental disability community. The Board consists of members with developmental disabilities or their family members, along with representatives from organizations, agencies, and service providers throughout Wisconsin.

Tasked with oversight and administrative authority for the Edvest and Tomorrow’s Scholar 529 plans, the Wisconsin College Savings Board was established in 1999 and includes board members from various professional backgrounds. There are currently six public board members who are appointed by the Governor. The Wisconsin College Savings Board advises the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), who manage the state 529 programs. Currently, DFI is working on a Wisconsin 529A ABLE plan, required to be implemented under 2023 Wisconsin Act 267 between January and August of 2025.

“I am honored and motivated by these appointments and look forward to serving the state of Wisconsin in this capacity. I love this state, and am excited to contribute to its progress, particularly for those with disabilities,” said McGuire.

We at Oak Wealth Advisors are proud to support Ryan’s efforts in Wisconsin.
