Senior Consultant Ryan McGuire was recently honored as a recipient of the Arc-Dane County Community Award for 2024. Ryan was one of seven individuals recognized for their exceptional support of the intellectual and developmental disability community.

The agency summarized Ryan’s contributions at the awards presentation:

The Dane County community is fortunate to have a knowledgeable and devoted professional in Ryan McGuire, available to take on these challenges and support families as they navigate these tough issues. Ryan has a slew of credentials and can speak confidently regarding special needs trusts, ABLE accounts, social security, and he doesn’t shy away from testifying before the legislature or calling a representative or assembly person up to get answers. He always takes calls and answers emails from the Arc-Dane County. He supports our efforts to inform and empower the community, collaborating with the Arc-Dane County to create a series of information videos. Ryan gives his energy and expertise and has never asked for anything in return.

The video series mentioned, which shares Oak Wealth Advisors’ Essential Elements of a Special Needs Plan, covering topics such as public benefits, ABLE accounts, special needs trusts, care guides, vocation and housing supports, and more, can be found on YouTube or accessed directly here.

Ryan was joined by local advocates Debbie Borth, Brett Maki, Amy Quaerna, Kristi Scheunemann, Dr. William Schwab, and Chris Witt in receiving this recognition. The speaker concluded with heartfelt appreciation: “Ryan, thank you. There is so much that we have accomplished that would never have happened without you.”
