Disability Pride Month

Oak Wealth Advisors is proud to celebrate Disability Pride Month, an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July as it is the anniversary of the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA broke down the barriers that separated the disabled community and brought inclusion into society.

The Disability Pride Month flag has five colors, all of which are diagonal, representing the barriers that separated disabled people from society. The flag consists of a green stripe for sensory disabilities, a blue stripe for emotional and psychiatric disabilities, a white stripe for non-apparent and undiagnosed disabilities, a gold stripe for neurodivergence, and a red stripe for physical disabilities.
