Randi Gillespie
Director Special Needs Services
Personal Mission
As someone who is navigating the complexities of the special needs world on behalf of my family, I hope to simplify the complex for other families with loved ones with special needs. I have a passion for counseling and advocating for families while creating meaningful opportunities for them as they plan for their loved one’s future.

Randi Gillespie is passionate about supporting families navigating the world of disabilities, drawing from both her personal experiences and professional expertise. As a parent of a young adult daughter with Down syndrome, Randi understands firsthand the complexities families face. Her mission is to simplify that journey by providing accessible resources, empowering advocacy, and fostering meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Randi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bradley University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Services from Rider University. She has served in leadership positions for multiple non-profit organizations. She has presented advocacy and special needs planning education to a wide range of schools, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations, including Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, the Adult Down Syndrome Center, Clearbrook, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Randi’s family was honored by the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association as their Family of the Year. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Village of Northbrook Special Needs Inclusion Commission.

Randi was born and raised in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and is the mother of three children. She enjoys early morning workouts, adventurous activities, and weekend excursions with her husband and kids. She believes every day should begin and end with a good joke, finds strength in laughter, and swears by ice cream as a daily dose of happiness.
